Where Storytellers Become System ArchitectureChoose Your Path Into the FutureHack the Future Labs are immersive, high-impact design environments created by Karen Palmer — the Storyteller from the Future. These Labs invite participants to challenge extractive technologies and dominant systems by imagining, designing, and rehearsing alternative futures rooted in emotional intelligence, justice, and cultural sovereignty.

Choose Your Path Into the Future
Built for institutions, festivals, brands, and communities, each Lab is a hands-on portal where participants shift from passive spectators to active system architects. Using narrative, emerging tech, and collective intelligence, we build futures that feel — and function — differently.Woven throughout the Labs is an evolving R&D story — where Hack the Future Kenya and Munich directly shaped the “Ascended Intelligence” prototype. This interconnected process demonstrates how protopian ideation — powered by the Labs’ exploratory methodology — can lead to real-world tools, insights, and impact within broader ecosystems.

Woven throughout the Labs is an evolving R&D story — where Hack the Future Kenya and Munich directly shaped the “Ascended Intelligence” prototype. This interconnected process demonstrates how protopian ideation — powered by the Labs’ exploratory methodology — can lead to real-world tools, insights, and impact within broader ecosystems.

Inside the Labs, participants engage in Flash Forward exercises to unlock imagination and disrupt inherited systems. They move through immersive workshops integrating XR, voice AI, and protopian storytelling, and participate in creative strategy sessions that combine narrative design, psychology, and systems thinking. These experiences culminate in the development of prototypes — technologies and frameworks that are decolonised, human-centred, and culturally aware. Each Lab fosters deep cross-sector collaboration, bridging art, activism, technology, and social transformation. These are not just workshops — they are training grounds for the worlds we need next.

The Storyteller from the Future has brought Hack the Future Labs — or their exploratory methodology — into these institutions as tools for transformation and radical imagination.

Why It Matters

Technology is not neutral. Neither is the future. Hack the Future Labs exist to rewire how we think, feel, and act inside systems. They create immersive environments where emerging technologies are aligned with emotional, ethical, and cultural intelligence. Here, participants explore justice-aligned design, Indigenous knowledge systems, and collective agency, while developing interventions that rehumanise power and expand what’s possible.

Whether you’re shaping AI strategy, public policy, cultural programming, or a brand campaign — this is where futures are co-designed.
